International Women’s Day being celebrated across the world today

International Women’s Day 08 March 2022 :  International Women’s day (IWD) is being celebrated in the world since 1900s. According to the World Economic Forum, global gender equality is estimated to be achieved by 2133. IWD is being observed to acknowledge the role of women in social development.

Theme for international women day 2022:
According to UN Women, the theme for International Women’s Day, 2022 (IWD 2022) is ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’.

In 1977 , International Organizations recognized 8 March as International Women’s Day.

International Women Day in Pakistan : 
IWD will be celebrated in Pakistan with full zeal and zest . Seminars , walks and specially #AuratMarch2022 by some non government organizations is likely to demand the equal rights and opportunities for women in Pakistan. Aurat March has faced a lot of criticism as Ministry of Religious Affairs submitted proposal to celebrate 8 March as “Hijab Day”.
